Headway made me do it ...

Updated: 4 hours ago

my book of today was “Scrum: The Art of Doing Twice the Work in Half the Time” by Jeff Sutherland.

Most important take away for me were:

Iterative Progress: Scrum is all about breaking down work into small, manageable chunks, which helps teams improve and adapt continuously.

Team Collaboration: At its core, Scrum thrives on teamwork. Cross-functional teams come together, using their diverse skills to reach shared goals.

Daily Stand-ups: These are quick, daily check-ins where the team stays on the same page, spots any issues, and adjusts plans as needed.

Sprint Planning: Work is organized into sprints, usually lasting 2-4 weeks, with clear goals and deliverables for each period.

Retrospectives: After each sprint, the team looks back on what went well and what could be better, promoting a culture of ongoing learning.

Product Backlog: This is a prioritized list of tasks and features that need to be done, ensuring the team focuses on the most important work.

Sprint Review: At the end of each sprint, the team shows their completed work to stakeholders and gets feedback.

Transparency: Everything in the process is visible to everyone involved, which builds accountability and trust.

Adaptability: Scrum encourages flexibility and quick responses to change, allowing teams to adjust based on feedback and new information.

Empowerment: Teams have the freedom to make decisions and manage their own work, leading to higher engagement and motivation.
